Advance Auto Awards $25,000 to American Red Cross

Monies to be used for local Red Cross services
 
 
 
February 1, 2010— The American Red Cross has received from Advance Auto Parts, a generous contribution of $25,000. The contribution will support the lifesaving work of the Red Cross in the community.
 
Red Cross programs include service in the areas of disaster responses; CPR, First Aid and water safety training; blood collections; service to military; and volunteerism. The contribution will help strengthen these services and enable the Red Cross to reach a greater number of people with more effective service.
 
The Roanoke Valley Chapter serves 410,000 people in Roanoke, Franklin, Botetourt, Craig, Alleghany, Bath, Highland and Pittsylvania counties.
